PORTHMADOG PRODUCER’S MARKET

The Producer’s Market at Porthmadog has been held the last Saturday of each month (9.30am – 2pm) for some years now and is worth a visit if you are in the area.

It is held at the community hall (Y Canolfan) by the harbour, so it has the advantage of being indoors when the weather is unpredictable!  There is a large car park across the way, plus a much smaller car park right next door for those with mobility issues.  The harbour itself is a pretty spot in good weather, with many small boats and often swans or geese on the water, and benches to relax and enjoy the view.  You might spot the Ffestiniog railway steam train swing past on the level crossing!

The Producer’s Market a good place to purchase ‘foodie’ treats if you are on a self-catering break – for example organic vegetables and free range eggs, honey from local hives across the region, artisan cheeses and fair trade coffee, plus organically reared prize winning pork, bacon and sausages.

It is also good for browsing for presents or souvenirs – there is Welsh Gin, Welsh liqueurs, plus artisan chocolate usually on offer.  Also, there is a small maker’s market held at the hall which is an interesting place to browse for welsh made gifts such as home-made soaps, scented soy candles, and ceramics.

The next Producer’s Market will be held on 26 October 2019, during half term break, and then on 30 November and 14 December (in time for some Christmas Shopping). The full address for satnav purposes is Y Ganolfan, The Harbour, Porthmadog, Gwynedd LL49 9LU.
